TUESDAY IS MUSIC DAY

9 03 2010

Tuesday means NEW music!!!  Here are my choices on what to go and pick up today…

Broken Bells –  With the combination of Shins frontman man, James Mercer, and Danger Mouse from Gnarls Barkley, I have a feeling this album is going to be on repeat. Their first single, “Broken Bells,” is off the chain and can’t wait to hear the rest of The High Road album.

Gorillas – Not a band in my top 10, but it’s kinda cool that a cartoon has come out with some pretty catchy beats. With guest musicians such as Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, and half the CLASH, Plastic Beach will be entertaining to listen to.

Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 – Live from the Montreal International Jazz Festival – Ben and whoever it is, the Relentless 7 or the Innocent Criminals, always put a great show on and can do wonders on his guitar. It’s always cool to see how far they can take a song live.
I’m also going to check out Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s new album Beat the Devil’s Tattoo, an indie rock band that has a cool sound when you’re tired of listening to Billboards Top 100.

I thought the same thing about the latest Gorillaz. I thought it was ok, but it may take some time to grow on me.
